(* 1962 in Gwangju, South Korea) started already at the age of ten, a wish of her parents, to study painting and to learn oriental calligraphy. In 1980 Minjung went to study at the Hong Ik University in Seoul where she obtained a degree on the subject of the four basic materials of ink painting. In 1991 she moved to Italy and enrolled at the Academia di Belle Arti in Brera near Milan in order to examine the analysis of the work of 20th century Western artists. In her painting, always done on the floor according to oriental tradition, Minjung is turning increasingly to watercolours in order to effectively express the intensity of energy inherent in colour. In her works made since 1998 the multi-layered paper is often partially burned thereby allowing the perception of a three-dimensional effect and of chronological sequence. She lives and works in Milan, Italy.
