When Science-Fiction Was Dead
February 17 – June 10, 2018
In the present-day context in which the notion of truth is under fire more than ever, the individual exhibition of Swedish artist Christian Andersson – which brings together both remarkable pieces and other never-before-seen works conceived and produced especially for this show – will offer the Portuguese public the most far-reaching panorama yet presented in this country of the work of an artist who is particularly interested in the objective/subjective and spiritual/material conditions of reading and de-codifying the artistic purpose.
April 5, 2018: Talk with Nuno Faria, Miguel Leal and Christian Andersson
Meet the artists Miguel Leal and Christian Anderson for a conversation about their respective exhibitions that inaugurated at the same time, February 17, at the International Center of Arts José de Guimarães. Both in “Double Negative” as in “When Science Fiction Was Dead” the artists present their projections of a space and time that are a thin tangent, problematizing the museum as a place of boundary between fiction and reality.
