Some motifs appear in positive and negative versions, while others are mirrored horizontally, allowing the elements to interact freely. The fruit nods to the classical still-life tradition while also being embraced as “bodies” and forms in constructive and abstract art. At the same time, their depictions carry a playful, sometimes absurd quality that blurs the lines between subject and pattern, between fruit and decorative motif. Fruits carry a positive connotation; their appearance varies, bringing local and exotic flavours into our homes and meals.
