Art Basel 2025

Booth G12, Messeplatz, Basel

von Bartha is pleased to present a curated booth titled "Re-Actions!" that explores how art functions as both a reflection of its time and a response to social, political, and economic forces. In the mid-20th century, artistic practices became increasingly self-referential. Movements broadly grouped under the Avant-garde shaped the foundation of von Bartha’s early program. While these genres often adhered to strict conceptual frameworks, today’s artistic landscape is notably more fluid and expansive.

The booth captures this evolution, juxtaposing historical references with contemporary voices in unexpected ways, including Marina Adams, Imi Knoebel, Landon Metz, Francisco Sierra, Erin Shirreff, and Claudia Wieser, alongside modern positions such as Barry Flanagan, Camille Graeser, László Moholy-Nagy, Ted Stamm, and Sascha Wiederhold.
