Art Basel Miami Beach 2026

Dec 1 – Dec 5, 2026

Miami Beach Convention Center

This year's presentation revolves around the question: To what extent does art function as a universal language? To anwser this, the selected works all engage in different ways with the fundamental structures and the potential of language: such as the alphabet as a visual system (Imi Knoebel), words and typography as graphical elements (Barbara Stauffacher Solomon), rhythm, order, and “grammar” of forms (Camille Graeser), or quotations, references, and photographic lingo (Erin Shirreff). Other artistic positions translate emotions and moods into color, form, and materiality, thereby making a nonverbal, sensory dimension of language perceptible (Marina Adams, Landon Metz).
