Kunsttage 2026

For Kunsttage Basel, we are opening two new exhibitions: Mother Tongue by Christian Andersson and Bijna een vlinder by Francisco Sierra.
In Mother Tongue, Christian Andersson presents three new sculptures that explore the timely question: Can images be trusted? Rather than offering clear answers, the works invite viewers into a space of uncertainty, curiosity, and speculation. Through a sophisticated understanding of materials, Andersson transforms the physical world itself into a source of ambiguity.
Francisco Sierra’s Bijna een vlinder ("Almost a Butterfly") presents a new body of work that pushes the artist’s practice into uncharted territory. Known for combining old-master precision with subtle absurdity, Sierra creates paintings that challenge perception and turn apparent clarity into something enigmatic and unexpected.
Join us for the public opening on Friday, August 28, 2026, from 5 to 8 pm.
