Mother Tongue

In his exhibition Mother Tongue, Christian Andersson turns the timely question “Can images be trusted?” toward sculpture. The three new works offer visitors no easy answers. Instead, they provoke further questions: What was, what is, and what will be?
Any sense of clarity emerges only through closer examination of the sculptures’ materiality. Drawing on a profound understanding of materials, Andersson (b. 1973 in Stockholm) transforms the physical world itself into a source of uncertainty that ultimately results in curiosity.
