Francisco Sierra (b. 1977 in Santiago de Chile) paints with old-master precision while twisting realism into sly absurdity. After his celebrated solo exhibition at Kunstmuseum Solothurn, the Cotterd-based artist returned to the studio with new questions – creating works for Bijna een vlinder ("Almost a Butterfly") that push his practice into uncharted territory. The result is a body of work alive with restlessness and risk.
