Conversation from the Lighthouse with Francisco Sierra

A conversation about birds, the hierarchy of things and good taste

A conversation about birds, the hierarchy of things and good taste

We are back at the top of our Copenhagen gallery with Swiss artist Francisco Sierra and von Bartha’s senior director, Hester Koper, in a new episode of our interview series “Conversations from the Lighthouse.”

On the highest point of our Copenhagen venue, this episode is all about mysterious things – Birds, the letter “H,” helpful and sometimes even dramatic spiders, and what the “holy” spider has to do with the human-created hierarchy for species and taste. We get an insight into Sierra’s practice and inspiration, where he stumbles upon ideas for new paintings and how to deal with critique.

Francisco’s debut solo exhibition in the Nordic region, “A Bird in a Studio,” has opened its doors to the public and is on view until October 21st at von Bartha Copenhagen.
